Though Lo Fidelity AllstarsΓÇÖ ΓÇÿ98 debut album was a certified dud, this remix CD finds the Brighton-based DJ troupe on their home turf doing what they do best. On the Floor... is a party-wrecking force, an all-purpose, all-genre, multi-era, dance-floor hurricane. Though the introductory track--Lo Fi's ΓÇ£You're Never Alone With A CloneΓÇ¥--is more anemic Brit hip-hop, they search far and wide to construct irresistible dancefloor fodder. The styles and eras zip by so fast it's nearly impossible to get bored or even catch your breath.
Witnesseth: Trouble Funk's 1982 butt-slammin' goofball classic ΓÇ£Pump Me Up,ΓÇ¥ Wildstyle Bob Nimble's robotically manic ΓÇ£What Is It?,ΓÇ¥ Jungle Brothers and Q Tip's sayin' it loud anthem ΓÇ£Black Is Black,ΓÇ¥ Humanoid's breakbeat epic ΓÇ£Stalker Humanoid,ΓÇ¥ the Feelgood Factor's massively stupid ΓÇ£The Whole Church Should Get Drunk,ΓÇ¥ and lastly, the Tams' 1960s soul hit, ΓÇ£Be Young Be Foolish Be Happy,ΓÇ¥ Prodigy and Les Rhythms Digitales thrown in for nasty modern style. Ridiculous!!
